Cookie Policy

Last updated:

The Sample Lab does not use first-party cookies to track you for analytics or advertising. This page explains what we do store in your browser and what third parties may set when you use related services. Read it with our Privacy Policy.

1. We do not collect tracking cookies

We do not set first-party HTTP cookies on thesamplelab.app for analytics, advertising, or marketing. We also do not load third-party analytics or ad pixels in the Service today.

2. Browser storage we use instead

To run the Service, we use browser storage (local storage and session storage), which is similar in purpose to essential cookies but is not an HTTP cookie:

  • Authentication: your signed-in session is stored locally (via our auth provider) so you stay logged in and tokens can refresh securely.
  • Sign-up / sign-in flow: short-lived session storage may hold terms-acceptance details during OAuth so we can complete account setup after you return from the provider.
  • Operational flags: small local values may prevent duplicate processing after an auth redirect.

Clearing site data in your browser will sign you out and may interrupt incomplete sign-up flows. That storage is necessary for the Service to work as intended.

3. Third-party cookies (outside our site)

When you leave thesamplelab.app for a third-party service, that provider may set its own cookies under its domain. Common examples:

  • Payment: Stripe Checkout or the Stripe billing portal may set cookies on Stripe’s domains.
  • Sign-in: Google or other OAuth providers may set cookies on their domains during authentication.

Those cookies are controlled by the third party’s policies, not by The Sample Lab. We do not use them to run our own advertising.

4. Your choices

You can clear cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Clearing storage for thesamplelab.app will sign you out. Blocking third-party cookies may affect checkout or OAuth sign-in. For privacy rights and personal data requests, see our Privacy Policy or contact support@thesamplelab.com.

5. Changes

If we later add analytics, advertising, or first-party cookies, we will update this policy and the “Last updated” date before relying on those practices.
