Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with a parent or guardian’s permission. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@thesamplelab.com if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that pose a risk to the Service or other users.

3. The Service

The Sample Lab provides a curated library of audio samples, packs, and related tools for music creators. Features, catalogs, pricing, and availability may change. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

4. Content licenses

When you download or otherwise obtain samples through the Service under an eligible plan or purchase, you receive a license to use that content as described in the applicable license terms shown at download or in your account. Unless expressly stated otherwise:

• Licenses are non-exclusive and non-transferable.
• You may not redistribute, resell, or re-license samples as standalone sound libraries or competing sample packs.
• Clearance-guaranteed or royalty-free labels apply only as described for that specific item.
• Producers and rights holders retain ownership of underlying intellectual property except for the license granted to you.

License verification and proof of purchase tools (including portal links we provide) are for transparency and do not expand your rights beyond the applicable license.

5. Producers and uploads

If you upload or submit content as a producer, you represent that you own or control all necessary rights, that your content does not infringe others’ rights, and that it complies with law and our guidelines. You grant The Sample Lab a worldwide license to host, process, preview, distribute, and promote your content as needed to operate and market the Service, subject to any producer agreement between us.

6. Subscriptions, credits, and payments

Paid plans, credit packs, and one-time purchases are billed through our payment processors (such as Stripe). Prices and taxes are shown at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled according to the options in your account or billing portal. Credits and downloads are generally non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated in a promotion.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, bulk-download, or reverse engineer the Service beyond normal personal or licensed use.
• Circumvent access controls, DRM, or license checks.
• Upload malware, infringing material, or unlawful content.
• Harass others, impersonate anyone, or misuse support channels.
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, branding, software, and curation are owned by The Sample Lab or its licensors. Except for licenses expressly granted to you, no rights are transferred. Feedback you send may be used by us without obligation to you.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SAMPLE LAB DISCLAIMS WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that samples will be suitable for every project or that third-party platforms will accept your works.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SAMPLE LAB AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify The Sample Lab against claims arising from your misuse of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by nature should survive (including licenses already granted to you for downloaded content, payment obligations, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive termination.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes may be communicated in-product or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
